2018 was a remarkable year - and we at Type/Code wanted to commemorate it in a proper web fashion. Utilizing illustrations from Type/Code’s Scout Book, we created a fun interactive Year-In-Review to portray the sometimes absurd statistical information about our workflows.Before landing on the current design, the design process underwent a variety of explorations into UX flows and visual styles to uncover the best way to showcase the work itself.

Before we landed on the current design, I explored various UX flows and design explorations to uncover the best way to showcase the work itself.

A long scrolling format enabled readers to fast forward through 2018's highlights and great moments.

And to fully embrace each project as its own, we attuned the background to transition colors smoothly into that which best suited the project currently on-screen.

The illustration also had to be modular to fit the needs of today's growing number of screen sizes.

We utilized the larger illustrations smartly: by dividing them into smaller sets. This way, the design system could be extended efficiently no manner the device.
